  2. MAHA VISHNU SUDHARSHAN HAVANA - DT.27/04/2001 & 28/04/2001.
  3. At Swami Nityananda Ashram, Kanhangad On 27th & 28th April 2001 devotees of Bhagwan Nityananda have organized Maha Vishnu Sudharshan Havana at Swami Nityananda Ashram, Kanhangad, North Kerala 370 315. The havana will be presided by Swami Sadananda Baba (Padiyar Swami of Kanhangad) and Ratnakar Sitaram Shenoy will be the chief 'Yajman'. All the devotees of Bhagwan can participate in the havana and offer 'sankalpa and ahuthi' and take the benefit of this havana and blessings of Bhagwan Nityananda and Swami Janananda.


    1. The programme and the benefits of Maha Vishnu Sudharshan Havana are following:
    2. It is known that Sudharshan is the chief weapon of Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna. Sudharshan is used not only to destroy enemies but to also destroy evil forces and for the protection of Dharma, upliftment of devotees and welfare of all. Sudharshan also means ' good samyak + darsana' meaning one which gives right and proper directions. It gives right directions for both spiritual and worldly progress in this and next life.

    3. This havana was started by Ahir Bunnya Rishi. The ceremony consists :
      1. 1,00,000 Japa,
      2. 10,000 havana,
      3. 1000 tarpana,
      4. 100 marajana
      5. 10 Brahmin

    4. The various 'dravya' offered to the sacrificial fire include :
      1. Apamargha sahi,
      2. Basmati rice,
      3. Tilla,
      4. Ghee,
      5. White mustard,
      6. Panchagavya (gomutra, gomaya, ghee, thirtha, gandha),
      7. All the above 7 dravya's are mixed together.

    5. In Maha Sudharshan Havana 10008 ahuthi is offered.


    6. The japa ceremony is held on 27th April 2001 and starts at 8am with Prathana, Guru Pooja, Punyavachana, Brahmin Pooja, Rathvijarana,and then the Japa shall be recited one lakh times. The Japa shall be uttered by 10 Brahmins, but those who are interested can also participate even from their home and the main mantra is as follows:
      1. "ooom sahasrarahum phat namaha".
      2. " ooom klim krishnaya govindaya gopijan valabaya paraya parama purusaya paramathmane parakarma manthra yanthr avsada asthra sasthrani savhara savhara mrathy
        OR
        mochaya ooom namho baghvthe mahasudharsanaya dipthe jwala pardipthay sarvadikso ksobana karaya brahmane jyothise hum phat swaha".
      3. The japa 'i' is sadaksari mantra and 'ii' is saharaksari mantra. One can recite any one of them as per one's capacity.

    7. What are the benefits of Mahasudharshan Havana? In addition to all round benefit on spiritual and materialistic fronts following the other reasons for performing this sacrifice include:
      1. For the removal of all types of 'dosha'-evil effect that might be existing on the devotees and of the place in and around the ashram.
      2. For restoring the sanctity of the holy place which may have got dorman because of wrong practices followed by people,knowoingly or unknowingly.
      3. For destroying the evil effect of ghosts, demigods, dead people etc.,if there are any.
      4. For the removal of the effects of following rituals without proper mantras or right techniques. Similarly all other evil effects that may happen due to evil eye on the devotees and the sanctity of the holy place.It helps to restore the original power of the deity and the deity once again gives benediction to the devotees who make sincere prayers.
      5. For the welfare of the devotees who have participitated in this havana,similarly to those devotees who have faith in Bhagwan Nityananda, people of the village, all the relatives of the devotees who have participitated and who may be in India or abroad, and those who have the bad effects of evil stars/planets in their horoscope in the 6th,8th,and 12th house and to augment the good effect of the stars/planets in the 11th house.
      6. For all the devotees of the Nityananda Bhagwan and their families, to have 'sapthavidh yogayajavanu', good health, long and happy life etc. Also for giving the devotees stronger faith and love for their Guru and offer 'seva and good work' for God, Guru and people and have a strong sense of brotherhood .

    8. On 28th April 2001 the function starts at 6a.m. There will be Navagraha Pooja, Sudarshana Pooja, Navagraha Havana, Sudarshan Havana, Purnahuthi at 1.30pm, brahmana bhojan,etc after the poojas.
    9. All devotees of Swami Nityanand Bhagwan and Swami Jananand Baba are cordially invited to attend the function and take theertha prasad.
